The Minister explained that to hold a job, the employee must hold a work authorization (also called a work permit). Otherwise, they cannot be hired. You can register as a jobseeker if you meet certain conditions: be looking for a job; be of working age (from 16 years old); for foreign workers, hold a residence permit allowing them to work in France and register with France Travail. Researchers who are foreign nationals must have a valid residence permit to receive unemployment benefits (France Travail).
